Questo cofanetto è un must per ogni fan della musica country, dal momento che racchiude tutte le registrazioni di 10 dischi di Johnny Cash pubblicati tra il 1957 e il 1960. Ci sono molti libri su "Man In black" (prende il nome per i suoi abiti neri) con la sua caratteristica voce di basso-baritono: alcuni di questi trattano della sua influenza sulla musica country, alcuni della sua dipendenza da droghe e il suo amore per la moglie June Carter, che è durato per decenni, ma alcuni anche del suo successo internazionale e dei suoi innumerevoli premi. Questi CD, comunque, non trattano di questi dettagli biografici, ma della musica del cantante e compositore, naturalmente. Proprio come i Beatles e molti altri, lui ha anche registrato canzoni in tedesco per raggiungere un pubblico più vasto. Come molti altri musicisti del tempo, come Elvis Presley o Carl Perkins, con in quale in seguito è andato in tour, Jhonny Cash, ha iniziato la sua carriera nel leggendario Sun Studios. Almeno 60 anni fa, le sue canzoni famose come "Folsom Prison Blues" o "I Walk the Line" son state prodotte in questi studi e al giorno d'oggi,praticamente ogni chiatarrista può riprodurli. Questo cofanetto non comprende solo titoli rockabilly come "Get Rhythm", ma anche tributi agli spettaoli di Cash alla star de country Hank Williams come le canzoni gospel e tutte le canzoni dei suoi primi anni. Nonostante i suoi imponenti problemi di droga, Johnn Cash si è sempre dedicato ad aiutare gli sfruttati e repressi, che si esprime nei testi critici di molte canzoni. Questi CD mostrano a noi come e perché Johnny Cash è diventato la più grande star della musica country.
