Nel 1983, all'apice del "satanic panic", "Shout At The Devil" fu pubblicato e catapultò i Mötley Crüe nella lega delle superstar. Al culmine del clamore e dopo l'album di debutto di platino "Too Fast For Love", il loro secondo album "Shout At The Devil" raggiunse la Top 20 negli Stati Uniti e fu certificato 4 volte platino. Per molti fan della musica, era la prima volta che vedevano un album con metafore e contenuti lirici sugli scaffali del reparto mainstream.
