Lynyrd Skynyrd – l’unica vera band southern rock. La combinazione di performance live carismatiche e la lunga lista di canzoni di successo al loro attivo li ha resi una delle più grandi live-band di sempre. Nel 1977 il gruppo fu coinvolto in un terribile incidente aereo che causò la morte di tre membri della band e di due membri dell’equipaggio. Nel 1987 i musicisti sopravvissuti riformarono la band includendo Johnny Van Zant come nuovo cantante – questi prese quindi il posto di suo fratello. Questa esibizionedel 1996 al Loreley Festival mostra la band esibirsi in una forma strepitosa, seguendo una scaletta fantastica. Adesso questo concerto è pubblicato in versione audio per la prima volta sia nella forma di doppio LP che in un digipack con DVD + 2CD. Come sorpresa per tutti i fan dei Lynyrd Skynyrd ci sono ulteriori tracce bonus, registrate al Markthalle di Amburgo nel Dicembre 1974. Queste canzoni (“Working for MCA”, “Free Bird” e “Sweet Home Alabama”) sono suonate dalla formazione originale del gruppo.
