Il loro ultimo tour, "The end", ha riportato i Black Sabbath (Support Rival Sons) in giro per il mondo per gli ultimi mesi, e il 4 febbraio il cerchio si chiuderà con l’ultimo concerto nella loro città natale di Birmingham.
Ozzy Osbourne (voce), Tony Iommi (chitarra), Geezer Butler (basso), e Bill Ward (batteria) hanno venduto finora oltre 75 milioni di album. Dal 2005, fanno parte della UK Music Hall Of Fame, e nel 2006, sono stati introdotti nella Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in USA. "The ultimate collection" viene rilasciata il 18 novembre come 4-LP con 31 tracce basate sulla set list attuale del tour in corso -le tracce sono state scelte assieme dalla band. Tutte le canzoni sono stata rimasterizzata da Andy Pearce.
