Insieme al chitarrista dei Savatage Al Pitrelli e a Jimmy DeGrasso (tra gli altri, Black Star Riders), i Megadave Mustaine e David Ellefson registrarono "The World Needs a Hero". Appena un anno dopo, la band si scioglie (che dura 3 anni e viene risollevata nel 2004 con "The System Has Failed"). La band si concentra maggiormente sui mid-tempo e incorpora momenti e melodie più "rockeggianti". Questo si adatta molto bene alla band. Brani come "Return the Hangar" o "1000 Times Goodbye" sono gemme ingiustamente dimenticate!
