I Metallica, vincitori di Grammy Award e star della Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame, saranno i patroni ufficiali del Record Store Days, il 16 aprile 2016.

"I negozi di musica indipendenti sono parte fondamentale del DNA dei Metallica. Non potremmo essere più onorati di essere i testimoni del Record Store Day...", spiega il batterista Lars Ulrich.

Nell'ambito di questa edizione del Record Store Day la band pubblicherà due esclusivi cofanetti di lusso rispettivamente per gli album "Kill 'Em All" e "Ride The Lightning" questo aprile 16. Ogni cofanetto deluxe contiene materiale originale selezionato dalla collezione della band. Materiale extra ed inedito, mai pubblicato dischi e libri con fotografie rare e note scritte della band.

Il set deluxe numerato dell'album contiene: spettacoli dal vivo, interviste, outtake e pubblicazioni in gran parte inedite e mai visti prima. Il set deluxe dell'album "Kill'Em All" contiene 4 vinili (album rimasterizzato, doppio LP live show "Live at Espace Balard", "Jump In The Fire" picture disc con 3 brani), 5 CD (interviste / remix / tracce bootleg / remix EP, live show "Live At JBees Rock III", Live Show "Live At The Keystone"), 1 DVD (live show "Live At The Metro A Chicago") e 1 libro (72 pagine con fotografie inedite). Inoltre, il cofanetto deluxe contiene una toppa.
